CESTIT BOZIC I
SRETNE BRADAVICE! Okay, so there is time for one more cheer of holiday
fest before we start to dream. We opted for Captain Levelord Spiced Rum
and Egg Nog instead of smoking vodka, which is really a summer sport.
Again, y'all have a great holiday and please be safe!
(The Croatian message above? "Merry Christmas and Happy Nipples!") |

Where the hell did December go! So much shit is
happening here that the month just slipped by! `Tis a tad early, perhaps, but please
accept this update as a sincere and earnest wish for you all to have a safe and happy
holidays! We are taking the entire 24th-to-2nd off for holiday, and tomorrow is our
company party.
So, in case we smoke too much vodka and get too much mistletoad stuck between our
cuspids, let us now say...
Merry Fucking New Year! |
The Ritual Tribe all went to see Levelord of the Rings yesterday.
Great scenery, cool story, of course, but the movie was a bit long, ...could have
cut out a few of the "THIS is the Ring of..." and "Use the Force..."
dialogues, me thinks. |

| Well, a real good friend is in town on business and his visit
is worth mentioning because of the historic value of this man. `Tis the Great Vin
"Pssst! Have I got a fuel cock for YOU!" Nadaskay! Vin
was an engineer at Bauer Aerospace, my pre-gaming emploment. As I've mentioned
before, we were all very much into Wolfenstein. Played the shit out of it, actually,
just like the rest of you ;)
It was Sunday, December 19th 1993. I was in working, like most every other Sunday
(remember this and then watch Office Space the next time you complain about crunch modes,
Richard!) when all of a sudden Vinny's head pops over my cubicle partition and hand
extends a floppy saying DOOM - Shareware Version. |
 |
He had just returned from a trade show and had grabbed a copy of id's latest. I
didn't even know what an id was at the time. I thought Apogee had made Keen, Wolfy,
and now this DOOM.
I remember it like it was yesterday! DOOM looked so cool, it blew me away!
Textures on the floor and ceiling, and I was floored with the ability to go up and down
stairs!
So, I actually owe all this Levelord Glory, ...and money, ...to a guy named Vin,
...thanks, Bro ;)
The Santa picture? That's me on the very same Sunday playing Santa for the
company Christmas party, ...and that's Vin's daughter on my lap ;) |

I liked Return to Castle Wolfenstein because it was a good
shoot-`em-up game, but I also have an affinity for the developer's company name,
...Graymatter. Before I was hired by 3D Realms for Duke Nukem, I was trying to start
my own software consulting company in Connecticut called GrayMatter Software
Solutions. I'm just glad they're keeping the name in good standing ;) |
